AWANA is a ministry to children committed to reaching them with and for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The AWANA program is available every Wednesday evening to children age three to sixth grader. The program includes game time that focuses on building community and team work. A study time called "handbook time" allows children to work through age appropriate handbook activities that teach biblical principles and help them memorize Bible verses. Other segments include a time of singing together, hearing Bible stories and lessons that further reinforce Christian principles. Children earn awards that can be used to "purchase" items for themselves and their family.
Costs for AWANA include $5 registration fee and $30 per year dues, which can be paid quarterly. There is also a cost for vests and handbooks and these costs vary for the differing age groups.
