HOUSEKEEPING TEAMS (CLEANING)
My name is Karen Peele and I am the Team Leader at GCC for the Housekeeping Team.  At GCC, we have been called upon by God to take care of and clean our Heavenly Father's house so it is pleasing, not only to Him, but to those who enter His house.

Everyone is welcome to help.  Here's how it works:  It only takes 6-8 people to form a group. You do not need to belong to a small group already.  I can add you to an existing group if you would like.  You do not need to bring anything with you; we have a cleaning closet and everything is provided for you.

A cleaning schedule is done for 3 months at a time and is e-mailed so each group's cleaning date is known in advance.  The groups rotate weekly, with each group cleaning about every 2-1/2 to 3 months.  It will be less often if we can get more groups added.  On a group's scheduled cleaning week, the cleaning is usually done on a Saturday (1-1/2 to 2 hours total) and a follow-up cleaning (light) is done on the following Tuesday (1 to 1-1/2 hours total).  Cleaning may also be done on Thursday or Friday, and the follow-up on Monday if it works better for the group.  Groups are not responsible for cleaning the modular units, ONLY the main building.

So, if your heart is leading you to help and serve in this way, it would be welcomed and appreciated.  Cleaning is not always looked upon as a "fun" thing, but I find cleaning God's house to be very therapeutic; it gives me a little bit of exercise and it makes me feel good knowing that I am serving God and taking pride in my church.  He cleaned feet; we should be honored to clean His house.
